1. Do you work on student films?
Yes! We provide audio services to college and university students working on projects for their classes. Although we cannot provide our services free of cost, we provide services below our regular rates with proof of student status.
2. Will you work for free or deferred payment?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide our equipment and services free of charge. We also do not work strictly for deferred payment as there is no guarantee of the deferral being paid.
We are however able to accept payment by credit card via Paypal with fees paid for by the client. Flexible payment options are also available. Please contact us to discuss terms.
3. Do you need to come to the preproduction meetings and tech scouts?
We highly recommend that we be involved in much of the preproduction of a shoot. Not only will this help the sound department in doing their job on set, but it will also help prevent any slow downs pertaining to excessive background noise, room acoustics, etc.
4. Do you require a boom operator?
We do not require a boom operator in most ENG/run-and-gun type shoots. We do however highly recommend that a boom operator be used on scripted material. This is not only to have the shoot run smoother, but to also make sure a proper mix is created. Please contact us, for more info.
5. What quality and format is the audio delivered in?
If the audio is recorded to camera, the audio settings are regularly set to the 48 kHz @ 16-bit. Double-system (external recorder) recordings are recorded 48 kHz @ 24-bit. If higher settings are request and available for both methods, we will determine what would be best before production.
The daily audio can be delivered in a number of formats and transferred in many different ways on location. In most cases, audio can be delivered in the required format on-site.
If a scheduled delivery is requested, there is a $15 delivery fee for the first DVD-R, and $5 for each remaining DVD.
Yes, we keep a RAID 0 (mirrored) backup of all production files for 60 days. After 60 days, the files are purged from the hard drives.
